FAQs
What is involved in the process of remote recording?
The process is really simple. Get in touch, and we can chat about what you need, the sound you want and ideas you have. Then we can get a date sorted out to do the recording.
On the day of the session, have some good headphones near as I will send you over some .WAV files thoughout the day to get your approval of the parts and tone.
Once you are happy, I will send you an invoice then following full payment, I will send a WeTransfer download link to get your files.
If you need any revisions or you are not 100% happy after the recording, please get in touch.
What will I get from you at the end of the process?
24-bit, 44.1K or 48K .WAV files of the individual stems of each track from the session either with or without processing, depending on your needs.
What do I need from you?
Your audio track for me to play along with, either a stereo mix or the individual stems. A click track or, if you have exported the track exactly from beat one of the project just a BPM will suffice. The time signature and key of the song is also really helpful to have. If there are guide tracks available, pre-production or reference tracks these would be very helpful too. If you have sheet music that is great and can make the whole process easier.
What About Royalties?
For public and commercial release you can, and I would recommend, registering your work on PRS and PPL. If you do this you must credit me as a performer.
What About Pricing?
Every project is different, so the quote you receive will be completely dependent on what you require. Get in touch for a personal quote. I offer a discount for three or more tracks.
I don’t have any ideas for drum parts or the sound I want! What do I do?
Firstly, don’t panic or worry! Get in touch and we can chat things through. It may help you to think about what inspires you in your music; what you enjoy and the drum parts and sounds you love. This is a great basis to work from. I will do my best to help and guide you through the process and enable you to get just the right drum sounds and parts for your track.
What about processing and mixing etc?
I will send all the stems to you with minimal processing running through some analogue preamp emulations, some light EQ and compression. I can also send you some mix and processing suggestions to help the drums suit your music or I can completely process the stems. Get in touch and we can chat more about what you need.
