Drummer, session musician and teacher, offering studio recording, live performance and private drum tuition.

Ed Hendry is a drummer, educator, studio owner, and music consultant based between Essex and London. Through Hope Cottage Studio, Ed offers remote drum recording, live and studio session work, private drum education, workshops, and practical consultation for artists, producers, churches, venues, studios, and creative organisations.

With more than a decade of teaching experience, over 70 commercially released tracks, UK and international live performance experience, and a senior lecturing role at the Academy of Contemporary Music in London, Ed brings together professional musicianship, education, live production, and technical expertise.

Whether recording drums for a track, preparing for a show, developing a drummer’s confidence, or supporting a studio, AV, or acoustic treatment project, Ed’s approach is practical, musical, and focused on helping each project work better.

“Ed is every producer’s and engineer’s dream drummer - diverse and robust with a plethora of knowledge and professionalism. No matter the session, he will get the job done and done well.”

— Matthew Twaites • Mystery Jets, Lily Allen, The Saturdays, The Kooks

Alongside his freelance work, Ed is a senior lecturer at the Academy of Contemporary Music (London), teaching across the Music Performance (Drums) and Live Production pathways.

Ed also runs a fully equipped remote drum-recording service from his upgraded facility, Hope Cottage Studio in Essex, where he produces high-quality drum tracks for artists and creators. The studio additionally hosts his in-person drum lessons.

Beyond performance and education, Ed offers audio consultancy, supporting artists, venues, and studios with workflow, production, and live-sound solutions.
